ACT I
Our story began 10 years ago as mere acquaintances working at Viacom. Fast forward to 2021, and we were both in the wedding party of our mutual friends Joel and JR. At their bachelor party, we found ourselves talking for hours and were even paired up for a lip sync battle, ironically performing a duet of "The Boy is Mine."
ACT II
During this time, Danielle was living in Boston and Gretchen was in NYC, but as fate would have it, Danielle was promoted into a role in NYC shortly thereafter. During Joel and JR’s wedding weekend, Gretchen made her move (with an alley-oop from our serendipitously named friend Destiney), and we quickly became inseparable.
ACT III
The last four years together have been a beautiful, nonstop adventure! We’ve built a life together starting in Brooklyn and now in Detroit and chased the best vibes across the globe; from the layered flavors of Mexico City and Sicily to the vibrant shores of Jamaica and Brazil, often traveling for friends’ weddings.
ACT IV
On an evening in September 2024, Danielle came home to white roses and candles, finding Gretchen on one knee. Through happy tears, Danielle said "Yes!" Then came the counter-proposal. Gretchen arrived home to a scavenger hunt, orchestrated with the help of friends Andrew and Kyle. The final stop revealed a room of red roses where Danielle was on one knee. Gretchen immediately said "Yes!" right back.
Our community has been instrumental in our love story, and we can't wait to have you all around us as we begin our next Act: Marriage!

We are only able to accommodate the guests specifically named on your invitation and listed on your RSVP form. If your invitation does not name a plus one, we kindly ask that you celebrate with us solo. We look forward to spending time with you!

While we adore your little ones, we have chosen to keep our Wedding Day an adults-only event to allow all of our guests to celebrate without distraction. Children are welcome at the Pool Day and Welcome Party. We thank you for making arrangements ahead of time and for your understanding!

We have specific dress codes for both the Welcome Party and the Wedding! The dress code is all white for the Welcome Party and Tropical Formal for the Wedding Day. Please see the mood board linked under each event in “The Wknd” section above.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. We recommend guests arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start time to allow enough time to navigate the venue and find your seat.

Our wedding planner will create a WhatsApp group closer to the wedding date based on the phone number provided when you RSVP. Please leverage this group chat to ask any question you’d like and get the latest information. If you don’t have WhatsApp, it is is available for download in the app store on iPhone and Android.

The Mayfair Hotel offers valet parking for guests and visitors. Valet services are $25 for the day (six hours or less) and $55 overnight (over six hours). Uber and Lyft are also always available!
